IBO Player Pro usually just works: open it, pick a channel, watch. When it does not, the symptoms tend to fall into a few familiar patterns. The playlist will not load, the login is rejected, the screen stays blank, the guide is empty or channels appear but refuse to play. Each has a likely cause and a sensible order of checks.
This guide walks through those checks. Because IBO Player Pro is developed independently and changes between versions, labels and menus vary; look for the closest match on your device. Remember too that the player has no content of its own. It connects to your subscription, so some problems sit with the app or device, and others need our support team.
Start with the Basics
- Close the app completely, not just back to the home screen.
- Restart the device by unplugging it for a few seconds.
- Confirm another app on the same device can stream video.
- Reopen IBO Player Pro and try again.
These four steps solve a surprising number of problems, especially after an app or system update.
Problem 1: The Playlist Will Not Load
You select your playlist and the app spins, times out or shows an error.
- Wait a little longer on the first load. Large channel lists and guides take time.
- Check the Server URL in the playlist settings. A missing http:// or port number is a common cause.
- Reload the playlist, or delete and re-add it. Our guide to managing playlists in IBO Player Pro explains how.
- Check whether your subscription is active, especially near a renewal date.
Problem 2: Login Errors
The app reports invalid details, an expired account or an authentication failure.
- Re-enter the Username and Password from your subscription email, slowly. They are usually case-sensitive.
- Look for spaces at the start or end of each field, especially if you copied and pasted.
- Watch for lookalike characters: 0 and O, 1, l and I.
- If you renewed recently, check whether your details changed.
Our step-by-step setup guide shows each field in more detail.
Problem 3: A Blank or Black Screen
If the app opens to a blank screen before you add anything, that is normal; the player is empty until a subscription is added. If it goes blank after working before, try these steps:
- Restart the device and reopen the app.
- Check for an app update in your device’s official store.
- Clear the app’s cache from the device’s app settings, where available.
- If nothing helps, uninstall and reinstall the app, then add your playlist again.
Problem 4: The Guide Is Empty
Channels load but the TV guide shows nothing. Refresh the guide from the player’s settings, then give it a few minutes. If times look wrong rather than missing, check your device time zone. Some channels may not carry guide data at all.
Problem 5: Channels Appear but Will Not Play
- Try several channels from different groups. If only one fails, note its name for support.
- If none play, restart the device and check your network.
- Try a different player setting for video playback if your version offers one, such as a different decoder option.
- Test on-demand titles too. If they play but live channels do not, mention that to support.
Problem 6: The App Freezes or Closes
If IBO Player Pro freezes on a channel, returns to the home screen on its own or becomes very slow, the device is often short on memory or storage. Free up space by removing unused apps, restart the device and check for an app update. Very large playlists can also strain older devices; if the problem started after adding a second playlist, try removing it to see whether things improve.
Problem 7: Sound but No Picture, or Picture but No Sound
When only one of the two works, the issue is usually playback rather than your login. Try another channel to see whether the problem follows it. If your version has a video decoder or player option in its settings, switching it can help. For missing sound with a soundbar, test with the TV speakers to rule out an audio format mismatch.
When Reinstalling Helps
Reinstalling clears corrupted app data but also removes playlists, favourites and settings. Keep your login details handy first. Install only from your device’s official store or the developer’s official source. Fire TV owners who installed with Downloader can follow our Fire TV Downloader guide again, and Android TV owners can use our Android TV and Google TV install guide.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does IBO Player Pro say my login is invalid?
Usually a typing error, a stray space or a changed password. Re-enter the details carefully from your email.
Will reinstalling delete my subscription?
No. It removes the app’s local data, including playlists and favourites, but your subscription is unaffected.
Why is the app empty when I open it?
The player has no content of its own. It shows channels once you add your subscription.
Should I download the app from a website if the store version fails?
Only from the developer’s official source. Avoid unofficial download sites and modified versions.
